Improving my sales pitch
Published by Rionald Soerjanto July 2nd, 2007 in SalesI join a several networking groups in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland and Issaquah area. Everything is good, food is good, I like meeting other great entrepreneurs, and I enjoy most of the time.
There was one thing that I didn’t enjoy at first. That’s when we had to give the 30 seconds or 1 minute commercial or sales pitch to the group about our business. I was intimidated to speak in front of “more experienced” business owners.
Do you feel the same? Do you have any problem in delivering your sales pitch or 1 minute commercial?
Business owners or entrepreneurs are time strapped multitaskers, relatively risk-averse, making them a difficult audience to reach and persuade.
I have been trying to find some ways to improve my sales pitch. I am blessed to be surrounded by many great people who have helped me grow. I am blessed to have the opportunity to learn from them.
To be able to hit the sweet spot, it is imperative to say something that will trigger their action or something that will catch their attention.
Do you know what do business owners and entrepreneurs care? If you don’t, then most likely, they will not care about anything that you say.
Increased Sales. This is the number #1 that most business owners or entrepreneurs care. Will buying your product or service help them achieve this goal?
Increased efficiency. Most business owners wish that there are more than 24 hours a day. I do! They work long hours. Will buying your product make them more efficient?
Safe Choices. Like most business owners, I prefer safe choices. I tend to be cautious when somebody wants me to buy products or use their service. Do you demonstrate that buying from you is a safe choice?
Save Money. Business owners are likely to be spending their own money and are relatively conservative. Will buying your products or use your service save them more money?
Reliability. To make business owners take the action to buy your products, make reliability a central component of your marketing message.
Network they trust. Business owners prefer to work with somebody they like, know and trust. Can they trust you?
If you could somehow integrate those points on your next sales pitch or one minute commercial, I am sure you will hit more “sweet spot.”
