Protecting your domain name
Published by Rionald Soerjanto July 7th, 2007 in WebsiteI think your domain name is a very important asset for your business. Imagine that you lost your domain and you have used it for a long time. Not only you lost the branding value, but people can misuse it.
What happens when you accidentally let your domain name expire? A dropcatcher swoops in, buying the name to resell it or use it for a website loaded with advertisement.
Make sure that your contact information with your registrar is up-to-date so that they can contact you when your domain name is about to expire.
You can also take an advantage of auto renew. Most registries offer this service so you don’t have to worry about manually pay them.
Lastly, register your domain name for more than one year. You will also save some money as buying domain name for multiple years is cheaper than one year only.
